Oceanside CA– Once again an Independence Day parade will march up Oceanside’s Coast Highway for the 126th time since 1892, June 28th from 10 am to noon. Those who make this parade actually happen are often not known to the parade watchers. There is the main parade organizer, MainStreet Oceanside, that takes the lead, but then there are those ever-important parade sponsors that are a huge part of having the parade return to the Oceanside streets.
“We are so thankful for those who support our local parade with monetary contributions; our 2014 parade sponsors,” stated Gumaro Escarcega, MainStreet Oceanside’s Program Manager. ““Tri-City Medical Center did it again! For the second year in a row, Tri-City Medical Center has made a huge impact on our event as the Title Sponsor.”
For more than 50 years, Tri-City Medical Center has been serving the Vista, Carlsbad and Oceanside communities. Tri-City Medical Center’s Senior Vice President, David Bennett remarked that being the Oceanside’s Title Sponsor is our way of saying Thank You, to those we serve and for those who serve our country. “It’s part of our social responsibility,” said Bennett.
Mossy Nissan asked to be included as the Media Parade Sponsor. General Manager, Matt Seamark put it, “Supporting and joining in, is what Mossy Nissan does to be a part of the community.” Thanks to Mossy Nissan’s contribution, those who cannot attend the parade can watch it on KOCT-TV Oceanside channel 18 and 19.
Band Sponsorship was chosen by Union Bank. With their support monies are provided to bands that need help being part of the Oceanside Independence Day Parade. Their support can be for a variety of things that help these non-profit musical organizations arrive and play their very best.
Special thanks goes to Supervisor Bill Horn’s office for providing grant funding to Mainstreet Oceanside for the parade. Remarked Horn, “I am proud to support Oceanside’s Independence Day Parade with a County grant. The parade is a community favorite, attracting thousands to Oceanside for a fun-filled day while boosting the local economy. The celebration is also a great way to pay tribute to our nation’s history.”
Several other sponsors that have committed to contributing include; Rubio’s, City of Oceanside, Friends of Oceanside Parks & Recreation and Bushido Marketing.
Volunteers are much needed this year to decorate floats, hand out flags, circulate posters, etc. For volunteer information contact MaryAnne at 760-967-7915.
