Carlsbad CA– The Poinsettia Fire is now 60% contained with 22 structures lost. Officials are asking drivers to stay off the roads if possible or use alternate routes. Due to the road closures, morning traffic is expected to be congested.
The following roads are closed:
- Camino Vida Roble between Palomar Airport Road and El Camino Real (has been reopened)
-Aviara Parkway from Ambrosia Lane to El Camino Real
-El Camino Real from Alga Road to Palomar Airport Road
-Camino Vida Roble between Palomar Airport Road and El Camino Real
-Poinsettia Lane from Black Rail Road to El Camino Real
-Palomar Oaks Way
-Cassia Road
Additional San Marcos “Cocos” Fire Evacuations
CAL FIRE reports that the Cocos Fire in San Marcos is currently at 700 acres with 0% containment. There are three confirmed structures destroyed, not five as earlier reported, and one damaged. The fire is still very active and continues to move to the south.
The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department has issued mandatory evacuations for the areas of Questhaven, Harmony Grove and parts of Elfin Forest in San Marcos and neighboring unincorporated areas of the county. An evacuation shelter has been set up at Mission Hills High School at 1 Mission Hills Court. If you need emergency assistance with evacuation, call 9-1-1.
