Oceanside CA- A Carlsbad man who died when he failed to negotiate a turn on his motorcycle has been identified, by the San Diego County Coroners Office, as Alan Phillips. Phillips was a 55 year old, married, white male who resided in Carlsbad with his family.
On the morning of March 22nd, Phillips was the driver and sole occupant of a Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling northbound on Interstate 5. For unknown reasons, Phillips failed to negotiate the transition ramp onto State Route 78, struck a guardrail and was ejected from the motorcycle onto the embankment.
Numerous persons stopped and attempted to render medical assistance, however Phillips was pronounced dead at the scene. An examination is yet to be performed.
