Oceanside CA— The Sister City relationship of Oceanside and Fuji City was founded in December 1991. In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Sister City relationship, OsideNews will features a series of articles about Fuji, written by the Fuji City Tourism Division and Fuji-Oceanside Friendship Association.
Fuji City is located one hour east of Tokyo with a population of two hundred-sixty-thousand and covers almost 95 square miles.

– the deepest bays across the Japanese ocean lays on the south
– the widest river, the Fuji River runs on the east
The rich natural resources of Mt. Fuji droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven upon Fuji, nurturing Japan’s largest paper industry for more than 100 years.
Advantages of its location and public infrastructures including Tago-port, founded in 1961, have extended the local economy into transport machinery and chemical industries, turning Fuji into global industrial city.
“Scenery with factories” has become a way of life for the citizens and its spectacular night view is illuminated with thousands of lights for overnight operations and symbolizes the industrial city of Fuji, lighting direction of our history and future.
