Oceanside CA— Boys & Girls Clubs of Oceanside (BGCO) has received a $3,000 grant from the Legacy Endowment for our Real Options for Adults with Disabilities (R.O.A.D.s) program. This amazing program provides innovative and personalized programming to support healthier, happier, more independent lives for adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities.
Since going virtual on March 18th, 2020, R.O.A.D.’s members have been attending daily virtual programming, five days a week. Virtual R.O.A.D.’s programming includes a staff-led exercise classes like Zumba or yoga, art projects, cooking classes, nutrition lessons, virtual tours of attractions like zoos and national parks, and much, much more. Funds from the Legacy Endowment support enrichment activities and increased program supply needs due to COVID-19.
“We are incredibly grateful for the Legacy Endowment’s support. It is extremely important that we continue to enhance the lives of adults with disabilities during these unprecedented times. This grant helps ensure that receive enriching and educational opportunities that support their forward progress,” said Jodi Diamond, CEO.
