Funds will help Feeding San Diego continue fund its response to the COVID-19 pandemic
San Diego CA— This weekend (November 21 and 22), 20 percent of sales from all Jersey Mike’s Subs locations will benefit Feeding San Diego as part of a national fundraising campaign through Feeding America. With 50 locations in San Diego county from La Mesa to Oceanside, it’s an easy way to give back while dining out. Feeding San Diego has seen an estimated 50 percent increase in need for its services since the pandemic hit and the organization has increased its food distributions to meet that need.
While Jersey Mike’s has said a minimum of $2.5 million will be donated to Feeding America nationally, they expect the total to be higher. Last April, Jersey Mike’s raised more than $2 million for Feeding America, helping to provide 20 million meals to the organization’s nationwide network of 200 food banks, of which Feeding San Diego is a member.
“We are incredibly grateful to Jersey Mike’s Subs for acknowledging the severity of the hunger crisis during this challenging time and partnering with us to fulfill our mission of connecting every person facing hunger with nutritious meals,” said Gavon Morris, Chief Philanthropy Officer of Feeding San Diego. “Jersey Mike’s is inspiring our community to come together to ensure that children, families, and seniors can access the resources they desperately need.”
Guests can place takeout orders in-store, or for no contact pick-up at the door through Jersey Mike’s website, or the Jersey Mike’s app. Delivery is available through the app, or through third-party delivery partners.
“We thank everyone for their generosity through our April fundraiser for Feeding America, which supported families during the height of COVID-19,” said Peter Cancro, Founder and CEO of Jersey Mike’s Franchise Systems, Inc. “While some of the country has rebounded, there are still families that are having a difficult time, and we are asking you to join us again at Jersey Mike’s this weekend to make a difference in someone’s life.”
