San Diego CA— Home Start, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to child abuse prevention and to providing evidence-based family strengthening services, successfully raised over $38,000 from its 13th Annual Hallo-Wine Fall Festival held on Saturday, October 24th, in honor of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The event was re-imagined from an in-person tasting event into a virtual fun and interactive afternoon for all food and drink lovers to enjoy.
“Our 13th Annual Hallo-Wine Fall Festival was a great success thanks to our generous participants, sponsors, donors and vendors,” said Laura Tancredi-Baese, Home Start’s CEO. “Now, more than ever, families are struggling and need additional resources to survive. Every dollar raised from our event will help Home Start serve victims of domestic violence and provide services to local families affected by COVID-19.”
Participants were treated to a tasting box filled with samples from a variety of vendor partners around San Diego, including The University Club Atop Symphony Towers, Burgeon Beer Company, Panini Kabob, Trevi Hills Winery, and more. Guests then joined an interactive virtual experience the afternoon of the event where viewers learned about locally crafted cider, wine, beer, and specialty cocktails from Home Start’s vendor partners. Additionally, there was trivia rounds with chances to win fabulous prizes and a Home Start client shared their personal story.
