Volunteers Will Raise Funds on June 20 to Support Families with Hospitalized Children
San Diego CA— Red Shoe Day is back and Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego is looking to make volunteer participation a “Perfect 10!” Hundreds of volunteers are needed on Thursday, June 20 to collect cash donations for the 10th Annual Red Shoe Day fundraiser.
Red Shoe Day is the largest volunteer-driven fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego, raising an astounding $243,000 in 2018. This year, Red Shoe Day volunteers will be collecting cash donations from generous morning commuters from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. at more than 200 major intersections throughout San Diego County. Individuals, businesses or groups looking to support their community by volunteering can sign up at RedShoeDaySD.com.
“This fundraiser would not be possible without the volunteers who give their time, talent and treasure to support the work of Ronald McDonald House,” said Chuck Day, president and CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego. “Red Shoe Day has seen incredible growth over the past 10 years, and we hope to see new volunteers this year! We would not be able to provide a home-away-from-home for thousands of families every year without the dedication of our community members.”
Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego provides a range of services – including lodging, meals and emotional support – to families who have a critically-ill or injured child being treated at a San Diego-area hospital.
Red Shoe Day is supported by title sponsor Wells Fargo, presenting sponsors San Diego County McDonald’s restaurants, NEWS 8, AM 760 and 100.7 San Diego, partner sponsors County of San Diego and Walmart and supporting sponsor SuperShuttle. Other sponsors include Kiwanis Club of San Diego, Geico, The GEO Group Foundation, San Diego Padres, Ecolab, Brinks, Ultra Star Cinemas, The UPS Store and Coola.
