San Diego County CA— HRSA Health Center has honored Neighborhood Healthcare with a Quality Leader Recognition. Quality Leader Recognition is based on HRSA’s August 2017 awards of nearly $105 million to 1,333 health centers as an investment in quality improvement, building on 2016 achievements. National quality leaders exceeded national clinical quality benchmarks, Health People 2020 goals, or other critical thresholds above the health center national averages in chronic disease management; preventive care; and/or perinatal/prenatal care.
Health Center Quality Leaders were among the top 30% of all HRSA-supported health centers that achieved the best overall clinical outcomes, demonstrating high-quality across their clinical operations.
“On behalf of our dedicated team at Neighborhood, we’re truly honored to receive this recognition from HRSA Health Center,” said Rakesh Patel, MD, FAAFP, CPE, CEO of Neighborhood Healthcare. “It recognizes the hard work and our unwavering commitment to excellence in caring for our community.”
Founded in 1969 by community volunteers and physicians, Neighborhood Healthcare has grown from a one-site health center with seven staff members to a 12-site, two-county health system with more than 650 employees. Last year, Neighborhood Healthcare served 67,000 patients.
In spite of its rapid growth, Neighborhood Healthcare’s mission remains the same: to provide quality healthcare and wellness promotion to all members of its communities, focusing on those most in need, regardless of ability to pay. As a result of its dedication, Neighborhood Healthcare has earned a reputation for providing innovative, long-term solutions that address emerging and urgent community needs.
