Escondido CA— Del Lago Academy will be hosting their second annual Strides In Solidarity Run/Walk Fundraising event. The event will be held on campus (address below) and all proceeds from the event will be donated to Partners In Health, an organization that specializes in treating the sick in impoverished areas of the U.S., Mexico, and around the world. Last year, the Class of 2018 raised over $4000 last year and this year’s Class of 2019 are hoping to beat that figure!
The event will feature a run/walk, but will also have different attractions. These attractions will include a car show, live entertainment, games, and a health fair. Food will be sold at the event by local food trucks. The run walk will begin at 8:00 am and the rest of the events will begin at 9:00 am
When asked about the event, one of the previous coordinators and teacher at Del Lago Academy, Ms. Duran, stated “The part that stood out the most was the live entertainment and informational presentations that the scholars put on. That stood out to me the most because the scholars were very engaged in informing the community about the reason for our event.”
As previously mentioned, all proceeds go to Partners In Health. Partners In Health is an organization that focuses on providing healthcare for people in impoverished parts of countries such as Mexico and The United States. The funds will be used to aid one of their ongoing projects.
