Oceanside CA— Saturday, July 8, the MiraCosta College Police Department is offering a free one-day course in Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) for female students, faculty, staff and community members, age 13 and up. R.A.D. provides effective options by teaching women to take an active role in their own self-defense.
R.A.D. is a program that begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance, and progresses to the basics of hands-on defense training. The R.A.D. program teaches women how to defend themselves against various types of assault using easy, effective and proven self-defense tactics. Students will have the opportunity to use the practical techniques they have learned in a full-contact simulated assault scenario.
The R.A.D. course will be held on the MiraCosta College Oceanside Campus, 1 Barnard Dr., Room 4809. Space is limited and registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis. To register call 760.795.6640 or email nyax@miracosta.edu.
