Chick-fil-A in 4S Ranch hosts `Dog Days of Summer’ free event, Saturday, June 17th
San Diego CA— Bring along your four-legged members of the family and watch a free movie together under the stars to celebrate “The Dog Days of Summer” at the Chick-fil-A® restaurant in 4S Ranch’s Del Sur Town Center, 17115 Camino Del Sur, San Diego, starting at 6 p.m. on Saturday evening, June 17. Restaurant owner-operator Tracey Abbott is planning a special outdoor event that is perfect for the entire family. For event details, visit www.facebook.com/ChickFilADelSur/. At the event, officials with the Helen Woodward Animal Center will be on hand with information about pet adoption opportunities. Helen Woodward Animal Center is a private, non-profit organization where “people help animals and animals help people.” Founded in 1972 in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., the Center provides services for more than 57,000 people and thousands of animals annually through adoptions, educational and therapeutic programs both onsite and throughout the community.
In addition, the evening will include a free screening of “The Secret Life of Pets” motion picture starting at 7 p.m. in the Chick-fil-A parking lot. “For one night, our parking lot will become a `barking lot,” quipped Abbott. “Bring your favorite picnic chairs and blankets and enjoy the movie under the stars. Popcorn will be free.” Abbott said admission to the movie is one person in your party downloading the free Chick-fil-A One™ app available in the Apple App Store or Android Google Play.
“Our Chick-fil-A restaurant offers outdoor seating so we encourage our customers to bring their pets,” said Abbott, who opened the restaurant earlier this year. “We’re also big supporters of adoptable pet programs. My husband Chris has an adopted cat that is a therapeutic part of his battle with progressive multiple sclerosis. In our experience, animals rescue us instead of the other way around.”
“The Secret Life of Pets,” an 87-minute animation adventure comedy, takes place in a Manhattan apartment building. The quiet life of a terrier named Max is turned upside down when his owner bring home a sloppy mongrel named Duke, a stray whom Max instantly dislikes. However, Max and Duke have to put their quarrels behind when they find out that an adorable white bunny named Snowball is building an army of lost pets determined to take revenge.
