Del Mar CA— Home and Hobby, one of the most varied exhibits and competitions at the 2017 San Diego County Fair, presented by Albertsons|Vons, is now accepting online entries at sdfair.com/entry . This category is for people who like to bake, collect, craft, sew, weave, stamp, felt, preserve and decorate. This exhibit traditionally receives about 2,000 entries which are judged, awarded and displayed during the run of the Fair, from June 2 through July 4.
Entry deadline for the Home and Hobby Exhibit is May 5. Entry dates for delivery to the Fairgrounds:
Arts/Crafts, Needle Art/Sewing, Weaving/Felting, Preserved Foods (liqueur) on May 16-17.
Collections, Miniatures, Models, and Table Setting Designs on May 27.
Baked/Decorated Foods and Candy on May 31.
Home and Hobby is open to adults, ages 18 and older with a U.S. mailing address, unless otherwise stated. Entry fees vary from $5-$10 per entry. Entries are judged using the American System of judging in a closed, blind session unless otherwise stated. Awards information is listed in entry materials and award winners will be invited to attend an awards ceremony held during the Fair.
In addition, Home and Hobby offers many One-Day Contests throughout the Fair. Participation is free and no-pre registration is required. Just bring your entry and entry form to the Fair (includes free Fair Admission). Some of this year’s contests include:

About the 2017 San Diego County Fair
Ride ‘em cowboys! “Where the West is Fun” is the theme for the 2017 San Diego County Fair, presented by Albertsons|Vons, remembering the rough and tumble Wild, Wild West and celebrating how the West is fun today.
