Crisp Summer Lager “OH MY!” to Raise Funds for Local Big Cat and Bear Sanctuary
Alpine CA— Local brewery Alpine Beer Company has brewed a beer to show support and help raise funds for its neighbor Lions Tigers & Bears, San Diego’s only accredited big cat and bear sanctuary.
From every pint of “OH MY!” lager sold, Alpine Beer Co. will donate $2 directly to Lions Tigers & Bears. During the month of August only, the beer is served exclusively at Alpine Beer Co. Outpost, the brewery’s tasting room and restaurant.
“We are grateful for local business support as we continue to rescue, feed, and provide veterinary care for our formerly abused and abandoned big cats and bears. They rely on us 365 days a year, so every amount of support truly helps.” said Lions Tigers & Bears Founder and Director Bobbi Brink. “We raise our glass to Alpine Beer Company for their creativity, generosity and enthusiasm as they spread the word about our sanctuary’s work to the community. We hope our visitors will stop by for a pint and lunch after they visit!”
“We’re really excited that we can help raise awareness for this amazing organization here in Alpine,” said Tom Tweedy, Alpine Beer Company’s vice president of operations. “We have wanted to get involved with Lions Tigers & Bears for many years, and we feel that this partnership is long overdue.”
Donations to Lions Tigers & Bears benefit its rescued animals, providing food, enrichment, habitat maintenance, veterinary care and more. In 2021 alone, the sanctuary has already rescued five big cats, a bobcat and a goat, all of whom will live out their lives at the sanctuary. In addition, the sanctuary is home to more than 65 residents that include lions, tigers, American and Himalayan black bears, grizzly bears, bobcats, mountain lions, servals, leopards, llamas, horses, goats, sheep, chickens, peacocks, and a macaw.
Lions Tigers & Bears is open for guided educational visits Tuesdays through Saturdays. To book a visit, go to lionstigersandbears.org/visit-us.
The Alpine Beer Co. Outpost, at 1347 Tavern Road, is open Tuesday and Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
