Donor selects local, family-owned toy store Geppetto’s to purchase $60,000 of toys for the act of giving

Del Mar CA— Geppetto’s Del Mar Highlands Town Center was selected as the go-to toy store destination for a generous philanthropist who purchased $60,000 worth of toys to donate to Toys for Tots. Done anonymously, this donor shared the spirit of the holiday season.

On Thursday, Nov. 5th, the Geppetto’s Del Mar Highlands location geared up for a major donation and pick-up by the Marines for Toys for Tots. Starting early that morning, the team personally selected items for the donation and several Marines came by to pick-up the donation. Over 3,000 toys were donated to Toys for Tots with UHaul trucks being loaded Marines and Geppetto’s volunteers.

The anonymous donor increased the annual donation by $10K this year with an intent to spread the word about being kind during this time of need, as this was the third year this donation has been made with Geppetto’s toys. Geppetto’s also donated several hundreds of toys to add to the donation and season of giving.
“It was such an amazing and generous act of kindness,” says Brian Miller, owner of Geppetto’s Toys. ” We were so honored to be apart of an anonymous donor’s toy shopping spree. We spent three hours selecting toys for Toys for Tots for a total of $60,000! With the help of our local marines, we filled two trucks full of toys.”
The Marine Toys for Tots Program helps millions of children in-need share in the magic of the holidays with unwrapped gifts. The program has supported over 265 million children to date.
