San Diego CA— Home Start, Inc., a nonprofit child abuse prevention and treatment agency that has strengthened and developed San Diego’s families and communities since 1972, has announced that it is converting its 48^th Annual Blue Ribbon Extravaganza into a fun-filled series of mini virtual events and activities that will start on Monday, June 22^nd and go until Saturday, June 27^th. These activities will replace the organization’s annual in-person gala that was originally set to take place on June 27^th.
Participants can expect to experience many engaging opportunities throughout the week, such as joining a Zoom call with Home Start’s CEO, Laura Tancredi-Baese, to hear client testimonies, and a chance to get the whole family involved with a virtual scavenger hunt. Supporters can also bid on unique auction items and experiences throughout the week and are encouraged to make a special gift to be entered for a chance to win a cruise from Holland America.
“I have been so inspired by all who have risen to the occasion to provide support to Home Start during a time when the organization needs to be there for our clients more than ever,” said Home Start’s President of its Board of Directors, Cameron Clarke. He added, “I am grateful Home Start will have the opportunity to connect with families and supporters at home to raise funds for the programs that deliver essential services to vulnerable families in San Diego.”
CEO, Laura Tancredi-Baese, said, “We are thinking of all the children and families who have been staying at home during this COVID-19 Crisis, and hope that they can join us for some virtual fun this year. We have a scavenger hunt and some fun auction items!” She also noted, “We truly appreciate their support during this challenging time.”
Funds raised from these activities will help vulnerable families by providing necessary resources to get through the ongoing pandemic and keep precious children safe all summer.
