Annual Festival Showcases Talented Students from Escondido
Escondido CA— On Saturday, March 21, 2020, the California Center for the Arts, Escondido and the Escondido Union School District will hold the 8th Annual smART Festival from 10:00am – 1:00pm at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido at 340 N. Escondido Blvd. The event is free and open to the public.
For one day each year, the Center for the Arts, Escondido dedicates its Museum and Conference Center to the celebration of youth in the local community; utilizing the Center’s ongoing partnership with the Escondido Union School District to bring arts education to youth in schools. This innovative annual community festival highlights the accomplishments of this partnership.
Students from all 23 Escondido Union schools will have artwork on display and performances will take place during the 2020 smART Festival. Two-dimensional artwork will be on display both in festival booths inside the Conference Center and on the walls of the Center’s Museum.
The Museum will also house three-dimensional artwork and the Outside the Lens/My Story 5th grade photographic art exhibit. Youth dance will take place on a main stage in the Center’s spacious Conference Center.
The smART Festival is made possible through the support of the California Arts Council, the County of San Diego, Mission Federal Credit Union and the San Diego County Credit Union.
