San Diego CA— It is with a heavy heart that Trauma Intervention Programs (TIP) of San Diego, Inc. gave a farewell to loving TIP Dog Robby who died on April 3rd at 10:30am. Robby, along with owner Malcolm Mitchell, dedicated over 12 years of service with TIP including the Kelly School shooting, fire shelter visits, death notification to children, various traumatic events at schools, and automobile accident scenes.
Robby also served as a therapy dog in the rehab department at Tri-City Hospital. At almost 15 years old, Robby was a kind hearted and compassionate dog who had a great and productive life.
He is remembered for his ability to zero in on the most distraught person in the room and put his head on their lap to provide comfort. During TIP trainings, he inevitably would go over to the “victim” during re-enactment practices in concern for their welfare.
Robby was truly a gentle soul and has left a mark on many individuals while serving his community.
