Volunteers needed!
Oceanside CA— The City of Oceanside has been recognized for the 10th consecutive year as a Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation in honor of our commitment to effective urban forest management. A Tree City USA is a community that makes the planting and care of trees a priority.
In honor of Arbor Day and Oceanside’s Tree City USA recognition, the City of Oceanside’s Public Works Department will hold a tree planting event in the 1100 block of Ditmar Street on Saturday, April 14 from 7:30-9:30 a.m. To volunteer, please arrive at the address and time above or contact (760) 435-5208 for more information.
Trees provide multiple benefits to a community when properly planted and maintained. They help improve visual appeal of a neighborhood, increase property values, reduce home cooling costs, remove air pollutants and provide wildlife habitat, among many other benefits.
