Oceanside CA— Coastal Oceanside trick-or-treaters will arrive on foot or bike to Vine Street Apartments, located 959 Vine Street, this Halloween for some electrical tricks and lots of treats!
Tuesday afternoon from 4-8 pm residents and friends of the Canyon Park Neighborhood Association will celebrate a multicultural “Dia de los Muertos – Honoring our Forebears” with Oceanside’s first solar apartment microgrid that will annually reduce 45 tons of carbon dioxide emissions from the atmosphere and help localize the Canyon Park neighborhood’s energy economy.
Contemporary Hawaiian music will be performed by Keahi Rozet (http://www.keahimusic.com/) from 4-6 pm, with a 5 pm break for City of Oceanside Deputy Mayor Chuck Lowery’s bicycle arrival to perform the honor of making Vine Street Apartments’ “Big Switch” to sustainable solar energy. Cosmic Solar’s Pey Shadzi will also be present to explain how Virtual Net Energy Metering can work for other apartment communities in Oceanside.
Canyon Park tours will be given by neighborhood residents Arlo DeLeon and Michael Odegaard at 4:30, 5:30, 6:00 and 6:30 pm, and the first 100 attendees wearing their hiking shoes will be treated to fresh Suavemente street tacos and also receive a beautiful Marilyn Scott-Waters designed kelly-green Canyon Park t-shirt.
DJ Bugsy will continue the entertainment spinning Kizomba, Semba and Afro House grooves from 6-8 pm.
