Over 24 Workshops, 50 Authors, 110 Exhibitors, Family Entertainment and a Variety of Food Vendors
Oceanside CA— One of the largest cultural events of the year comes to MiraCosta College today, August 12, when the Latino Book & Family Festival makes a stop at the Oceanside Campus. The North San Diego County Latino Book and Family Festival will be the biggest gathering of authors in the region and a perfect back-to-school kickoff for families.
Running hourly, two dozen workshops will be offered in six tracks: Keynote Speakers, Children Books, Non-Fiction Books, Fiction Books, College Can Happen, and Community Topics. Workshop include: A Dramatic Reading of “How Will I Talk to Abuela/,” So You Want to be a Published Author, Writing Essays for College and Scholarships, and Soluciones de la Migracción.

Exhibitors include publishing companies, community service agencies, legal and financial support organizations, librarians from the entire region, religious organizations, educational entities, local media outlets, health and family counseling services, professional service groups, and many more.
While the festival’s goal is to promote literacy, generous community partners, Vista Community Clinic and We Support U, will be on campus to provide free dental screenings and mammograms.
