Carlsbad CA— Looking for spring and summer camps? This year’s lineup includes sports, arts and science camps and other programs for kids 3 to 16. The full camp schedule will be available for review online. Online registration starts Feb. 22.

- Spring camps are offered April 3-7. Summer camps run from June 19 through Aug. 25.
- The camps are included in the city’s Spring/Summer Community Services Guide, which is available in all community centers and city buildings and online.
Camp Themes
Camp themes include art, science and exploration, sports and fitness, or traditional day camps that run all summer long. A small sample of some of the camps offered this year include:
- Film Making camp, where future moguls learn how to create a storyboard, write a screenplay and produce a film.
- Junior Zoo Keeper, where future animal stewards learn about all types of mammals, reptiles, birds and bugs; build habitats, prepare diets and meet live animal friends.
- Stem FUNdamentals with LEGO, applies real-world concepts in physics, engineering and architecture to create engineer-designed projects such as snowmobiles, towers, catapults and battle tracks.
- Mysteries of Magic, where budding magicians learn new tricks that will amaze family and friends.
- Monster Mash Mania, where campers travel to the depths of the ocean and the outer limits of space to meet enormous sea monsters, massive land creatures and silly alien friends.
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, where campers learn such crazy reptilian skills as karate, pizza making and crime solving. Includes crafts, face painting and much more.
- Top Chef Camp, where novice chefs will learn how to make several delicious and fun dishes. This camp features delectable competitions with plenty of challenges Menus are prepared and the restaurant is open at the end of the week for family and friends.
“Our Spring/Summer Community Services Guide is filled with more than 75 pages of activities for your child to enjoy during spring and summer, including hundreds of swim lessons for children of all ages and ability,” said City of Carlsbad Senior Management Analyst Bonnie Elliott. “We also offer cooking camps, creative arts camps, even a class on how to survive in the wilderness, so there’s truly a camp for every interest.” Elliott encourages parents to sign up early, since many camps sell out.
