Oceanside CA— El Camino High School, in partnership with the San Luis Rey Rotary Club of Oceanside, is presenting its 23rd annual Veterans Day Program on Thursday, November 10th at 8:00 AM in the school auditorium. This is the longest tenured Veterans Day celebration in the county and will be hosting approximately 100 veterans from WW II, Korea, Vietnam and more recent conflicts.
Entertainment is provided by the ECHS Band, Choir, ROTC, Dance and Drama team. The featured speaker this year will be Sgt Major Lonnie Travis from Camp Pendleton and also a tribute to the late Jim Downs who was responsible for the institution of this event.
Following the morning assembly, several of the veterans in attendance will visit individual classrooms to share their experiences with students who should gain a better understanding of history and how veterans of all conflicts have influenced the lives the students live today.
If you are a veteran who would like to partake in this or future events, please contact Tom Voris at tom.voris@oside.net
This event is open to the general public and is free of charge
