Oceanside CA— Local businesses are showing a tremendous amount of support for the upcoming Operation Appreciation event that occurs Saturday, May 21st, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Oceanside’s Pier Amphitheatre and Junior Seau Community Center.
Operation Appreciation is a dedicated day recognizing all active-duty military stationed on Marine Corps Base Camp Joseph H. Pendleton and other nearby military bases. This is the 15th annual Armed Forces Day Operation Appreciation event hosted by the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce, with the support of the community and local businesses.
“Whether you are a civilian who wants to show your gratitude and enjoy a fun-filled day or you are a member of the military family, come out and SHOW your appreciation or BE appreciated,” says David Nydegger, Oceanside Chamber of Commerce President.

Children’s Paradise is sponsoring buses to accommodate transportation from the downtown area to the pier.  Food will be provided by Hunter Steakhouse, Buffalo Wild Wings, Domino’s and Pick Up Stix Asian Flavors.  Palomar Mountain is sponsoring water.
These sponsors create a special event that welcomes thousands of active-duty military and their families to enjoy a day filled with free food, a Fun Zone with zip line, laser tag and obstacle courses, and live entertainment at the Oceanside Pier Amphitheatre. The general public is also welcome to come and show support.
For entry into the event and to receive unlimited rides, activities, and a free lunch, all Active Duty Military and their dependents must bring a valid Active Duty Military ID Card. The public is welcome to this event and is able to purchase tickets for the children’s Fun Zone.  Entertainment, the sponsor booth area and military displays are free to everyone.
