Cash Prizes to be Awarded, Winning Entries to be Displayed at State Capitol
Sacramento CA— Senator Patricia Bates (R-Laguna Niguel) is encouraging high school students to participate in a statewide photography contest that seeks images representing the Golden State.
The “California Through My Eyes” contest is sponsored by LegiSchool, a civic education collaboration between the California State Legislature and Sacramento State. The contest is open to current California high school students. Participants must submit a photo and a 150 word or less essay explaining why their photo represents California.
The first-place winner will receive $150 and four runners-up will receive $100 each. Winning photos and honorable mentions will be displayed at the State Capitol and featured on the LegiSchool Blog. The submission deadline is May 6, 2016.
