Carlsbad CA— Join Happy Hour Politics in welcoming Leslie Schneider, candidate for the Encinitas Union School District Board, to our May 18th event. Leslie’s goals are clear for the school district – 1) responsible spending, 2) transparency, and 3) maintaining an open feedback loop with parents and taxpayers in the community. In addition to discussing her candidacy, Leslie will also address other education issues facing students and parents, including school funding and how district dollars are being spent, and not spent! Don’t miss this opportunity to hear how Leslie will help improve education for your children.
Leslie has owned a small business consultancy for the past 11 years. She graduated from the University of Arizona in Business Administration, French, and Communication. She states that her background in private industry and as an entrepreneur has taught her the importance of accountability, integrity, transparency, and responsiveness to clients and team members. In her opinion, the current school board seems to have forgotten that we are their clients and they are accountable to us. With state and federal education funding levels unpredictable, every single dollar school districts receive must be spent with the requirement that it be used to directly impact our students’ educational achievement today.
Leslie grew up in San Diego and she and her husband have been Encinitas residents since 1998. She has two children, both in the Encinitas Union School District.
The Happy Hour Politics events are held the third Wednesday each month from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at The Crossings, 5800 The Crossings Dr, Carlsbad.
