Carlsbad CA— Ray Patchett, a highly-regarded, public-sector regional leader, has been elected President of the Board of Directors of Carlsbad-based Hospice of the North Coast (HNC). He joined the Board in 2010. Prior to assuming this position, he served as Vice President. Patchett replaces Board President Bobbie Hoder, who remains on the Board and is actively involved with the organization.
Patchett states, “With a strong Board and executive management team, and a staff of skilled, caring professionals, Hospice of the North Coast is positioned to continue enhancing our value to patients, their families and the community. I am pleased to help lead an organization of this high caliber.”
HNC Executive Director Sharon Lutz says, “We appreciate Ray’s visionary leadership, strategic thinking and innovative approaches to taking our community-based hospice to the next level of excellence.”
Holding a B.S. in Public Administration and an M.S. in Organization Development, Patchett has amassed a wealth of experience and knowledge over his distinguished career. He served for 20 years as the City of Carlsbad’s City Manager, making a major impact on the well-managed growth and development of this fiscally stable, much-emulated municipality. He has taught at San Diego State University, UC Berkeley and Cal Poly Pomona; focusing on leadership training, public policy and urban government.
Patchett currently operates Patchett & Associates, an organizational development company that offers a full spectrum of consulting, coaching and training services intended to foster community excellence, corporate effectiveness and personal growth. Clients include cities, non-profits, foundations and individual executive leaders.
Ray Patchett and his wife, Denise, are longtime Carlsbad residents. His leisure-time activities include golf and fitness.
