Carlsbad CA— The City of Carlsbad’s Snores & S’mores family camp out will be held from 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, to 9 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, at Aviara Community Park at 6435 Ambrosia Lane. The event is $25 per person and is free for ages 3 and under.
Snores & S’mores offers a night of roasting marshmallows, playing games and watching an outdoor movie, all while camping out in a neighborhood park. Attendees can set up a tent on the field and enjoy an adventure in the pixelated world of video games. Activities include opportunities to wreck and fix buildings, climb the tower in Hero’s Duty to claim a medal, race in the Sugar Rush Grand Prix and more. The evening continues with s’mores, popcorn and the featured movie under the stars.
Attendees will retire to their personal tents for “lights out” at 10:30 p.m. on Saturday. On Sunday morning, families can continue their camping experience with an early morning hike.
Special Events Supervisor Rachael Shay said the idea of Snores & S’mores is to give families an opportunity to enjoy the fun of camping, right in their own city.
“Snores & S’mores is a great way for families to experience camping in an easy, safe way,” she said, adding that its themed activities “make it a fun event for even the most experienced campers.”
Shay said the event is so popular that it usually sells out and recommends registering early.
Attendees should register in advance by Aug. 7.
