San Diego CA— Explore Mission Trails Day is an annual celebration at Mission Trails Regional Park. This is a free event open to all San Diegans. The celebration includes dozens of “Discovery Stations”, where kids and adults alike can ascend climbing walls, ride mountain bikes, experience close-up encounters with birds of prey and other animals, take a guided twilight hike, as well as a many other activities.
While a few of the outdoor activities, such as the guided hike, are contingent on the weather conditions, guests should feel comfortable knowing that many of these activities will be hosted indoors at the Mission Trails Regional Park Visitor’s Center, including a large number of activities for children to do. Children’s activities will include a live, in-person presentation from Scholastic Publishing’s Ms. Frizzle™ from the wildly popular kids show The Magic School Bus. The program is designed for kids between three and eight years of age and will feature an exciting program on one of San Diego’s most common wild critters – the coyote.
Food service will be provided between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Visitor’s Center, as well as the East Fortuna Staging Area. Shuttles are also being provided from West Hills High School between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
