Oceanside CA— The Oceanside Cultural Arts Foundation will hold an “Art and Garden Tour” special fundraiser at the home of long-time Oceanside residents and art collectors Darrell and Loren Dixon on Sunday, May 3rd at either 11:00 am to 1:00 pm or 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm (please specify time – reservations are limited).
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore a beautiful private home and garden filled with a collection of art treasures and surprises at every turn. This OCAF fundraiser benefits itself as an entire organization instead of a particular project as before, and this year the organization is inviting guests to enjoy art with wine and appetizers under the trees of an astonishing garden to support its many arts-related projects.
Attendees of Spring Fest will enjoy live entertainment by Robert Parker, with hors d’oeuvres, wine and other beverages. Raffle prizes include wine tasting certificates, tickets to 14th annual OMFest, autographed books from “Write On, Oceanside!” published authors, VIP passes to Oceanside International Film Festival, season subscriptions for Oceanside Theatre Company at The Brooks, hotel stays, and restaurant dining certificates.
An award winning pianist and a graduate of the Drake University Instrumental Music Department, Robert Parker has been performing professionally for four decades on record as well as in concert. Known for a solid left hand and classically-fueled cadenzas, or a gentle touch when coaxing the heart into ballads, his style is dynamic and memorable. The Iowa native is also known for his groundbreaking weekly appearances in the early 80’s on the Country Variety TV show, “Ozark Opry.” In addition to Robert Parker winning a North County Entertainment Music Awards “Best Jazz” Category (1984 PURL Band), he has been inducted into the Iowa Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as well as the Iowa/Midwest Music Heritage Hall of Fame.
Advance tickets are $40.00 each with purchase before April 28, or $50 each at entrance or online after April 28. Please specify “morning” or “afternoon” when mailing checks or paying online, reservations are limited. The address of Dixon residence will be given only with your advance reservation.

Box 3054, Oceanside, CA 92051, or purchase online at www.ocaf.info For questions please call 760-757-6863 or email ocaf@ocaf.info. OCAF was established June 7, 1989 and since that day it has supported and promoted fine arts in Oceanside and its surrounding communities. OCAF began with the creation of Oceanside Museum of Art, which is now thriving, independent, and well-respected. Next, it developed Oceanside Days of Art, which is in its 23rd year this April, as one of the premier fine arts-only festivals. OCAF happily took over the American Songbook / Gershwin Festival, expanded it and it is now in its 14th year this October as Oceanside Music Festival. Partnering with Oceanside Public Library and the Oceanside Friends of the Library, it has added Write On Oceanside!, North County’s largest literary festival to its lineup of annual events. The 5th annual literary event, celebrating local published authors, will be coming up in July. Finally OCAF rounded out with Oceanside International Film Festival, 5th year this August.
Over the past quarter century OCAF has provided venues for student, avocational, and professional visual and performing artists to showcase and celebrate their gifts. It has given out thousands of dollars in scholarships to talented, deserving school students from throughout North County San Diego. Oceanside Cultural Arts Foundation now invites guests to help it continue serving our local arts community by supporting its fundraiser.
