The fourth annual fashion show and champagne luncheon will create healthier futures for North County mothers and babies
Oceanside CA—Philanthropic fashionistas can mark their calendars and prepare to give back in style at Tri-City Hospital Foundation’s fourth annual Fashion That Heals. Focusing on the expansion and refurbishment of Tri-City Medical Center’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), which is the only Level III facility in North County equipped to care for newborns in the most critical condition, the fashion show and champagne luncheon will be held on Sat., May 2 at the chic Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa.
In Fashion That Heals tradition, the highlight of the event will be a fashion show featuring looks from local boutiques and designers and starring Tri-City physicians, nurses and employees. Before and after models hit the runway, guests will be able to enjoy an expansive fashion trunk show and a bigger-than-ever live auction for prizes including getaways, beauty services, jewelry, experiences and more. Back by popular demand, the “Pick a Purse” opportunity drawing gives lucky winners the chance to go home with a designer handbag of their choice – along with hundreds of dollars in high-end prizes. Opportunity drawing tickets are available via the Foundation office for $20 each, and participants do not need to be present to win.
“We had a wonderful turnout in 2014 and raised more than $105,000 for women’s cardiac health services as a result,” said Event Co-Chair Ellen Stotmeister. “With mothers and babies as a focus, we look forward to another successful, productive event and promoting better health for North County’s littlest citizens.”
“Fashion That Heals is a must-attend for local philanthropists,” commented Co-Chair Angela Colucci. “Men and women alike can relate to the event and feel good knowing they are building a brighter future for generations to come. Tri-City Medical Center’s NICU is uniquely equipped to begin with, and we can’t wait to add to its abilities even further with the help of our community.”
Bridget Naso, an NBC7 Reporter who specializes in Military Coverage, will serve as Mistress of Ceremonies for the event. In addition to her multiple Emmy nominations, Naso has been honored with a Health Hero Award from local Combined Health Agencies for her volunteer efforts with the Muscular Dystrophy Association. A passionate contributor to philanthropic causes, Naso has devoted her time to organizations including the MDA, Children’s Miracle Network and Helen Woodward Animal Center.
