Oceanside CA— The Oceanside Public Library in collaboration with North County African American Woman’s Association (NCAAWA) is proud to host a series of programs for Black History month. On Saturday, February 21 at 5:30 p.m., join us for A Night of Performance: Walking through History at the Sunshine Brooks Theatre at 217 N. Coast Highway in Oceanside.
This performance combines drumming, spoken word, and an adaptation of poet Pearl Cleage’s We Speak Your Names to create an evening that is sure to educate and entertain. The audience will take a a walk through history with African American Women legends and Martin Luther King Jr.’s speeches to present day, with a spoken word performance from The Professor. The night will include performances from drummer CHAZZ, local Oceanside and El Camino High School actors, Reverend Brown and Dr. Bruce Hoskins.
This free series is sponsored by the Friends of the Oceanside Public Library in collaboration with NCAAWA. This series of month long programs will be educational and engaging for all ages.
