About the San Diego County Fair
The theme for the 2015 San Diego County Fair, presented by Albertsons/VONS is “A Fair to Remember, A Celebration of World’s Fairs and Balboa Park,” and commemorates the centennial anniversary of the 1915 Panama – California Exposition held in Balboa Park. The theme unites the largest event in San Diego County, and fourth-largest Fair in North America; with a national historic landmark and San Diego treasure known as Balboa Park. World’s Fairs have long been a platform for education, culture, technology, food and new inventions. What do the bicycle, telephone, ice cream cone, mustard, air conditioning and the Ford Mustang all have in common? They were all introduced at a World’s Fair! The Fair will also demonstrate how agriculture was, and still is, the core of all Fairs and Expositions. The Summer starts here with food, fun and frolic at the 2015 San Diego County Fair!
The Fair will run for 25 days, from Friday, June 5 at 4:00 p.m. through Sunday, July 5, 2015 and will be closed on Mondays and the first two Tuesdays. The San Diego County Fair is the largest annual event in San Diego County and one of the top 10 Fairs in the United States and Canada, drawing more than 1.4 million visitors annually. Admission is $15 for adults; $8 for ages 6-12, and 62 and older; free for ages 5 and younger. For more information visit www.sdfair.com.
