Oceanside CA– A reception was held at the Oceanside Museum of Art for Pat Bates, Fifth District Supervisor in Orange County, for her service to the community. Bates was the driving force in Laguna Niguel’s bid for city-hood and was the city’s first mayor after incorporation 1989. After four terms as mayor and several terms on the city council, she was elected to State Assembly in the 73rd Assembly District which covers parts Orange an San Diego Counties.
Bates is currently running for State Senate in the 36th District which covers Encinitas in San Diego County, north to Rancho Santa Margarita in Orange County. Bates was introduced, at the event, by Oceanside City Council-member, Jerry Kern, California Assembly member Rocky Chávez (R-Oceanside) with a bio read by Vista Mayor, Judy Ritter.
