Oceanside CA– Meet Second Chance, an often photographed white boxer who can be seen most days in the downtown area of Oceanside. Second Chance got his name because Boxers are often destroyed, when they are puppies, if their color is more than 35% white according to his owner.
“Unfortunately, some people still believe that all white Boxer dogs are the least favorable of the boxer breed. They argue that boxers born white are more prone to illness or more aggressive than the other more traditionally colored dogs of the breed” according to the website ‘Planet-Boxer‘.
Second Chance, who is deaf, wears the sunglasses to protect his eyes.
