Oceanside CA- The colorful sights, sounds and delicious smells of the Philippines will once again fill the Civic Center Plaza in Oceanside. The Filipino-American Cultural Organization, along with the Oceanside Public Library and the Friends of the Library, invite you to enjoy a festive day of music, dance, food and much more at the 13th Annual Filipino Cultural Celebration on Saturday, June 7, from 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Oceanside Civic Center Library and Plaza at 330 North Coast Highway.
The theme of this year’s celebration is “Rebuild – Re-Educate – Remember Heritage!” The event will kick-off at 10 a.m., and the schedule is as follows:
10:15 a.m. – Traditional Filipino Costume Show
11:15 a.m. – Mrs. Fil-Am Coronation
11:45 p.m. – Talent Showcase “Pinoy’s Got Talent”
12:45 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Scholarship Presentation
Opportunity Drawings
Traditional Filipino food such as pancit, lumpia, and adobo, and other items will be available for sale in the plaza area from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Children are invited into the library courtyard throughout the day for a free craft program and special storytimes. Parents and grandparents are welcome to join in the fun. Don’t forget to check out the many books and materials on Filipino culture available at the library. All events are free and open to the public.

The Filipino-American Cultural Organization was formed and established in June of 1976. It began as a social gathering of some whose mission was to preserve the Filipino cultural customs and traditions, and is now over 300 members strong.
