The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest San Diego (formerly Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito and Boys & Girls Clubs of Oceanside) has been awarded a $50,000 grant from the Zable Foundation.
The grant will play a key role in supporting the recent merger of the two longstanding youth development organizations. It will also help further their mission to inspire, develop and enrich young people to reach their fullest potential as confident, responsible, caring members of society.
With a combined legacy of more than 130 years of combined service, the newly united organization now serves more than 6,500 members in the communities of Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, Encinitas, Solana Beach, Del Mar and Carmel Valley, making it the second-largest Boys & Girls Club in San Diego County. Additionally, the Club positively impacts an additional 10,000 youths through specialty programs and community partnerships.
“We are immensely thankful to the Zable Foundation for their incredible support of our enriching youth development programs,” club CEO Marineke Vandervort said. “With their partnership, we will serve more young people and expand our impact throughout North County San Diego.”
