The 2024 San Diego Giving Back Raffle, benefitting Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego, has selected Amy Garzot of Oceanside as the grand prizewinner of the 20th annual fundraiser, winning a $1 million cash prize.
This year, the San Diego Giving Back Raffle sold 39,236 raffle tickets with proceeds directly benefiting San Diego’s Ronald McDonald House, which provides a “home away from home” for families with a critically ill or injured child.
“Last year, the San Diego Ronald McDonald House provided nearly 36,000 family members with a place to rest, refuel and rejuvenate using our day services, and 1,835 families were able to stay overnight and be minutes away from their hospitalized child — all free of charge,” said Chuck Day, president and CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego. “It’s through fundraisers like the San Diego Giving Back Raffle and our generous community that we can continue to support a growing number of families during their most challenging moments.”
The second grand prizewinner, Glenn Knox of Hemet, wins the choice of a 2024 Lotus Eletre, a Dwellito H650B modular home, a 2024 Mercedes-Benz AMG SL Roadster, or $10,000 in cash. This year’s multi-ticket winner is Lowell McConnell of Big Bear Lake, who wins the choice of a 2024 Airstream Globetrotter, a 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ, a South America trip to the Galapagos, Patagonia and more via private jet, or $100,000 in cash.
In celebration of 20 years of giving back, raffle participants who purchased add-on tickets won $20,000 prize drawings for 20 consecutive days. In July, one daily winner was given the opportunity to select a prize, like a riverboat voyage from Machu Picchu to the Amazon, a 2024 Chevrolet Malibu, or $20,000 in cash.

For more than 40 years, Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego has provided a “home-away-from-home,” which keeps families close to one another and the care they need when their child is being treated for serious, often life-threatening conditions at local hospitals. San Diego’s Ronald McDonald House was specifically designed to provide the necessities of home — including 57 guest suites, a family kitchen and a children’s play area — to help strengthen families and bolster their psychological well-being during challenging times regardless of their situation or ability to pay. The Ronald McDonald House creates an emotional and physical sanctuary annually for nearly 15,000 family members. To learn more, visit rmhcsd.org.
