The Oceanside Museum of Art held its Hunter’s Moon-themed Rising 2023 Gala at The Seabird Resort on Saturday, Oct. 28, to celebrate museum’s growing prominence in the Southern California arts scene.
The evening began with a sunset cocktail hour overlooking the Oceanside pier, where guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, a curated bar, and a specially crafted signature cocktail — the Moonlight Margarita. A silent auction featured an array of fine art, unique experiences and entertainment items.
During dinner, attendees joined a live auction, vying for adventures such as the Avalon Waterways European river cruise, a stay at the Grant Hyatt Kauai, and exclusive visits to Aruba, Costa Rica and Mexico.
Dance music by The Ivy League, and the evening was interspersed with surprise interactive art sessions curated by OMA.
“Last year, we celebrated a landmark 25th anniversary. This year, it was all about our growth and the soaring heights we’re achieving,” OMA Executive Director Maria Mingalone said. “This gala was a perfect representation of that journey.”
Additionally, the collaboration between OMA, The Seabird Resort and Mission Pacific Hotel was on full display. Attendees got an exclusive view of works OMA West, the satellite gallery housed within The Seabird Resort.
