Oceanside CA— Oceanside based Tri-City Inline Hockey League (TCIHL) is marking its 28th year of operation with having a special celebrity drop the puck at TCIHL’s Fall-2021 Season’s very first game. The face-off at the first elementary school game will be done by none other than “Gulliver,” the official mascot of San Diego Gulls Hockey Club. The event – open to the public and a great photo and autograph opportunity for youngsters – will be held 10 AM Saturday, September 25th, at the Martin Luther King Jr. Park’s roller hockey rink located 4300 Mesa Drive in Oceanside.
The mascot is not only the current face of San Diego Gulls, which was reorganized in 2000 with roots going back to 1966, but it represents a seagull-themed image of San Diego. Having the official representative of a professional minor league of AHL (Western Conference Pacific Division) at this event in Oceanside is set to be an inspirational moment for many kids at TCIHL.
Tri-City Inline Hockey League is a non-profit organization established in 1993 for the development of youth inline roller hockey. It was the very first inline hockey league in California sanctioned by USA Hockey. TCIHL’s co-ed recreational program is now open to new and experienced players aged 5 through 17 with divisions for Beginner Youth, Elementary, Middle School, and High School. Practices begin week of Sept. 20 and occur every Monday or Wednesday evening depending on team placement. Games start September 25th on Tuesdays for high-school and Saturdays for all other divisions. Play-offs are December 11th and 12th.
