Carlsbad CA— “Take life with a grain of salt” is sage advice, but on National Margarita Day, salt the rim and add some fresh lime to your drink—or however you prefer.
This year, the boozy holiday falls on Saturday, February 22, a day where San Diegans will have an extra excuse to bask in the sunshine and enjoy one of Southern California’s favorite refreshments.
To celebrate this national holiday here are two of the best spots to enjoy a sweet, sour or spicy margarita (or all three).
Hibiscus Margarita at The Bier Garden of Encinitas – $11
Margarita translates to “daisy” in English, but the team at Bier Garden chose a different flower for inspiration. Their Hibiscus Margarita ($11) features CaliFino Reposado Tequila, fresh lime juice, hibiscus simple syrup and agave nectar. It’s refreshing and ready to quench the thirst of margarita lovers coming from the beach or down the 101!
Spanish Margarita at 20|Twenty – $12
Coastal views and margaritas go together like peanut butter and jelly – one is just not the same without the other. At 20|Twenty in Carlsbad, you’ll have the best of both worlds. Sip on their Spanish Margarita ($12) crafted by Beverage Director Stephen George. This refreshingly colorful margarita features Azunia Blanco, Torres Orange Liqueur, brandy-blackberry muddle, jalapeño-infused agave nectar and fresh lime juice. Enjoy this tequila drink as the sunset drapes the Carlsbad coastline in mirroring orange, red and pink hues.
