Eligible Residents must live in Carmel Valley, Del Mar, La Jolla, University City, Clairemont, Mira Mesa or Rancho Penasquitos
San Diego CA—The newest Chick-fil-A restaurant in San Diego County, at 9370 Scranton Road in Sorrento Valley, will open on Thursday morning, Sept. 28. However, one day earlier, on Wednesday, Sept. 27, the new Chick-fil-A restaurant will host the chain’s traditional “First 100 Campout.”
The line will begin forming in the restaurant parking lot at 6 a.m. on Sept. 27. Fans are expected to arrive with tents, chairs, TVs and computers. Local residents who live within a 12-mile radius of the restaurant location are invited to camp out in the restaurant’s parking lot to qualify to be among the first 100 customers.
The first 100 customers through the doors, starting at 5 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 28, will receive free Chick-fil-A food for a year, specifically a digital card good for 52 Chick-fil-A sandwich meals consisting of a Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich, medium waffle potato fries and a medium drink. The digital offer card will be awarded to the first 100 eligible adults, ages 18 and older with identification.
Residency eligibility for the first 100 customers will be based on zip codes. Eligible zip codes will include the San Diego communities of Carmel Valley, Del Mar, La Jolla, University City, Clairemont, Mira Mesa and Rancho Penasquitos. Residency will be verified with a valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and blank check or deposit slip with an address, along with current insurance, tax or mortgage documents.
Those selected as the first 100 customers must remain on site to secure their spot and retain their eligibility. Campout activities will include music, live entertainment, contests and an opportunity to package 10,000 meals for a local charity.
Jared Ciervo, Sorrento Valley franchise owner, said he expects the first 100 customers to be identified by around noontime on Wednesday, Sept. 27. “Based on the response on social media and comments from community residents, we’re expecting a good turnout for our campout, which will be a sign of good things to come,” said Ciervo. “It will be our pleasure to serve Sorrento Valley with great service and great food.”
