Guests on June 17 cross-border adventure to try wines made by hand in Valle de Guadalupe
San Diego CA— Imagine an afternoon with friends, sipping Baja’s exquisite wines amongst the lush valleys and picturesque scenery of Valle de Guadalupe. Determined to share this magical experience with wine lovers this summer, The Wine Pub announces its next all-inclusive winery tour across the border on Saturday, June 17.
Starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, guests will depart in comfortable vans from The Wine Pub in Point Loma to stop for locally loved Tijuana seafood street tacos at Tacos Aaron. Heading further into the Valle, guests will enjoy private tastings at Torres Alegre’s new tasting room—a winery that produces most of its wine by hand rather than machine. The excursion will continue with an exclusive tasting at Viña de Frannes Winery followed by dinner at Mixtura Restaurant at Relieve Winery. Closing out a day of adventure, guests will drink in the sunset at Cuatro Cuatros.
“This trip’s exclusive tastings and meals allow our guests to soak in the true charm of the Valle,” says The Wine Pub Owner Sandy Hanshaw. “Baja wine expert Fernando Gaxiola will lead us through the region’s most sought after wineries and breathtaking views during this beautiful time of year.”
Fernando Gaxiola will join Hanshaw to guide the tour using his insight into the region’s rich history of winemakers and family-owned vineyards. Gaxiola owns the largest importer of Baja wines, Baja Food + Wine, which promotes boutique, family-owned and artisan wineries from Valle de Guadalupe—the region that produces 90 percent of artisan Mexican wine.
Tickets for The Wine Pub’s Valle de Guadalupe tour are $195 per person and include transportation, expedited border crossing, two full meals and all premium wine tastings. Driver tips are not included. Reservations are required and available here.
