Oceanside CA– Delicious freshly caught Red King Crab is on its way from Alaska’s Dutch Harbor directly to Oceanside’s most popular waterfront restaurant, the Oceanside Broiler, where fans of this delicacy have been awaiting its arrival with eager anticipation.
“Red King Crab is the most coveted of crabs, so we are fortunate to have the opportunity to bring them to our guests at the Oceanside Broiler,” said David Salisbury, co-owner of the restaurant, who plans to offer these and other in-demand seasonal items when they’re available.
He said the name Red King Crab is because they turn that color when they are cooked. The crabs will be available for lunch and dinner while the supply lasts.
Located 1325 Harbor Drive North, in the building formerly occupied by Monterey Bay Canners, the Oceanside Broiler also serves savory steaks, other sumptuous fresh seafood, sushi, tasty salads, cool libations and much more. The restaurant accommodates 275 guests inside and on a patio and a covered lanai.
The airy restaurant has an upscale yet causal sophistication, with warm wooded tabletops accented by burgundy and gray tones. Richly upholstered booths make up two-thirds of the dining space, including three oversized booths that can accommodate up to 14 guests each. All new tile flooring surrounds the open, exposition-style kitchen. A centerpiece of the restaurant is a lighted 700-gallon saltwater fish tank.
The restaurant serves house-made pastries, fresh and sustainable seafood, local craft beers on tap, and organic and locally grown products. Oceanside Broiler has the longest happy hour in town, running from 11AM until 6PM every day, inside the facility and along the waterfront on the Lanai. It also features outside dining and banquet facilities with lots of knowledgeable staff ready to serve guests.
The Oceanside Broiler is open daily, with lunch served Monday through Saturday from 11:30AM until 4PM, and brunch from 10AM until 2PM on Sundays. Dinner is served nightly from 4PM until 9:30PM. The lounge and lanai will be open from 11AM until 11PM on most days. The expanded wine list includes a broad selection of California wines by the bottle or glass. Guests can also order champagne or sake.
The restaurant’s executive chef is Joe Lorch, who was previously with King’s Fish House. Award-winning restaurateur Matt Oquita is the general manager.
