ENCINITAS — San Dieguito High School Academy drama students perform Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” April 17-19 and 24-26 at 7 p.m., April 19 at 2 p.m., and April 23 at 4 p.m.
A sneak peek dinner-and-show fundraiser is also set for April 16 at 5:30 p.m.
“The Little Mermaid” stage adaptation of Disney’s 1989 animated film, written by Doug Wright with music and lyrics by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, is based on Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale. It tells the story of Ariel, a young mermaid who dreams of living on land and experiencing life among humans. Shows will be performed at the Clayton E. Liggett Theater on the San Dieguito High School Academy campus, 800 Santa Fe Drive in Encinitas. Tickets are $12 for children and students and $20 for adults and are available for purchase at sdatheatre.com. Tickets for the sneak peek are $35 and are also available for purchase also at the website. Tickets may also be available for purchase at the theater. The house opens a half hour before each show.
