Jewelry, cash taken in armed robbery of four people in Encinitas

Authorities seek four suspects involved in an armed robbery early June 12 in downtown Encinitas.

The incident happened about 20 minutes after midnight Sunday when four men wearing ski masks robbed two women and two men of jewelry and cash on South Vulcan Avenue at East E Street. One suspect had a handgun and the other three had knives, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. No one was injured.

The suspects fled on South Vulcan Avenue in an older oxidized black sedan, the Sheriff’s Department reported.

North Coastal Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to the incident.

Authorities described the suspects as Latino men in their mid-20s. The suspect with the gun reportedly wore a white collared or flannel shirt and long Dickies shorts. The other suspects were wearing dark shirts and long Dickies shorts, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

An investigation is underway and the suspects are at large. Anyone with information about the incident can call the North Coastal Sheriff’s Station at 760-966-3500.
