A small earthquake was recorded Thursday night off the coast of Encinitas.

The July 29 quake registered 2.6 and struck about 25 miles west of Encinitas at 8:29 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

There were no reports on social media of it being felt by residents from Encinitas, Carlsbad or elsewhere in coastal north San Diego County. A USGS user-contributed map also showed no reports of it being felt in the region.
