“New year, new you” is a slogan we’re all familiar with when it comes to that first day of a new year. New Year’s resolutions amount to trying new things and getting out there for more fun and fulfillment. An idyllic setting plus lots of things to do and try makes the North Coast the perfect place for all your New Year’s resolutions and goals.

- Jan. 21-22: Big Head Todd and the Monsters — The fact that Big Head Todd and the Monsters booked two shows at the Belly Up in San Diego should show how much of a local favorite this indie/blues group is. Friday is already sold out, so make sure you grab your tickets to Thursday’s show asap.
- Jan. 29: G Love and Special Sauce — In the opinion of most San Diegans, soulful blues/rap combo G Love and Special Sauce are the best thing to come out of Philadelphia since the Liberty Bell.
