Encinitas Union School District seeks applicants for board seat
December 4, 2014
The Encinitas Union School District seeks a replacement for Board of Trustees member Maureen “Mo” Muir, who will leave to begin her new term on the San Dieguito Union High School District board.
Applications are open to registered voters who live within the Encinitas Union district, according to a district announcement. The appointed replacement will fill the remaining two years of the seat, through December 2016.
Muir won a seat on the high school district Board of Trustees in November. She filed a letter of resignation from the Encinitas Union board with the county Office of Education on Nov. 19, according to a Nov. 24 Encinitas Union board meeting agenda. Her last day with the elementary school district is Dec. 10.
The Encinitas Union district must fill Muir’s old seat before Jan. 19, the district’s announcement states. The vacancy is expected to be filled immediately after interviews during a Board of Trustees meeting during the week of Jan. 12. Applications must be received in the Superintendent’s Office by 5 p.m. Jan. 7.
