When a sense of calm begins to descend upon the community and relieves some of the tension of the times, to me it means an answer is near at hand to quell our collective sense of anxiety and fear. I felt this calm begin to envelope me and my family today, as voting continues and the people shall judge.
Your friends, family and neighbors are adding their voices to a pathway they would each like to walk, individually and with others, in the years ahead. The question is: is yours a path of heart?
Pathways are as individual as the people who walk them. No matter how you voted, who you voted for, or will vote for on Tuesday, Nov. 5, you are not alone in wondering if you are making the right choices. Making right choices comes from a knowing within, what in our hearts we know is for highest and best good, choices we feel we can sleep well with having made.
We can’t think our way to peace and tranquility as a nation. We must act from the heart in a way that creates the harmony and tranquility that is conducive to living a peaceful and productive life. We must act in accord with our true nature, as beings of divinely inspired creation capable of great love, wisdom, compassion and endurance.
We will be tested after the election — no matter how we voted — to keep the faith. We will be called to not only foster life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, but open our hearts to those whose pathways intersect ours, and encourage them to walk with heart, even when others try to appeal to the baser instincts of hatred, lust, anger and cruelty.
Walk the high road dear friends, speak the truth, and others will follow. You are not alone.
